Warren G. Katz of West Hartford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. He was born in Hartford on July 12, 1934, the son of the late Hyman and Sarah Gordon Katz, and lived most of his life in West Hartford, although he loved spending his summers at Stannard Beach in Westbrook. He loved his work as a real estate appraiser, completing his last appraisal a few weeks ago. He enjoyed a good laugh, a good grinder, and a good golf cart ride. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anita Shotten Katz and his older sister Mildred Katz Lassoff. He leaves behind his twin brother Marvin Katz and his wife Rozzie, his son Jeffrey Katz and his wife Robin, his son Robert Katz and his wife Debbie, his son Steven Katz and his wife Elin, his seven grandchildren, Michael, Erica, Danielle, Melanie, Matthew, Zachary, and Justin, and many other loving family and friends. He also had many happy years with his devoted companion Brigitte Tschleppe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at his home, 76 Vardon Rd., West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill 06067-3045.
