Vera (Davidson) Marcus

Vera (Davidson) Marcus, 80, of Candlewood Dr., Bloomfield, widow of Daniel Marcus, died Thursday, February 23, 2006. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Sadie (Vdetsky) Davidson. Mrs. Marcus was a past president of Beth Hillel Synagogue, Bloomfield; two-time past president of the Beth Hillel Synagogue Sisterhood; past president of Jewish Women International; past president of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism; and past president of the Hartford Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. She leaves two daughters: Cheryle R. Marcus of Bloomfield, and Leslie M. Tosatti and her husband Thomas of South Glastonbury; three grandsons: Jonathan Steven, Joseph Daniel and David Marcus Tosatti. She also leaves her sisters-in-law: Beatrice Tauber of Rydal, PA, Doris Konover and her husband Simon of West Hartford; and Sandra Shapiro and her husband Norman of Key Biscayne, FL; several nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary of the Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield with Rabbi Edward M. Friedman and Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed Sunday following the funeral through Monday evening at the home of her daughter Leslie, 80 Taylor Town Road, South Glastonbury.
