Theodore Alexander Lubinsky passed suddenly on June 26, 2024. Ted was born on July 12, 1931 in Waterbury, CT to the late Samuel and Mary Lubinsky. He graduated from Crosby High School, the University of Connecticut and Boston University School of Law. Ted toured Europe as a trombone player in the army band for two years. Upon his return he married his love Judith Coleman and they settled in Simsbury to raise their family. Ted began his career in Hartford’s west end and maintained his private law practice well into his eighties. Over the years it is estimated he helped hundreds, maybe thousands of homeowners facing tough times to keep their homes from foreclosure proceedings. Ted was a founding member of the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation, played saxophone as a longtime member of the Simsbury Community Band and will fondly be remembered for his distinctive laugh, “dad” jokes, knowledge of world history, love of swing bands and loyalty to family. Ted was pre-deceased by his wife, Judith, his sister Janice Klain and several in-laws. Ted leaves behind his children Martin, Matthew and wife Carolyn, Ellen and husband Jay, Kenneth and wife Koren, Steven and wife Jennifer, his 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A private burial with military honors was held on July 2 at Hartford Mutual Society, Simsbury CT. Donations in Theodore’s name can be made to Simsbury Community Band or UCONN Foundation Cancer Care Fund.
