GLASBAND, Thelma (Polman) Glasband, 87, of West Hartford, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ida (Laschever) Polman. She was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford. She leaves her husband, Norman Glasband; two daughter, Nadine Shapiro of Marlton, NJ, and Ellen Margolis and her husband Jerry of Farmington; four grandchildren, Melissa Shapiro Lapid and her husband Richard, Amy Shapiro, Scott Margolis and his wife Kimberly, and Rachel Margolis; four great-grandchildren, Noah and Evan Lapid and Sadie and Benjamin Margolis; and two brothers, Ronald Polman and his wife Janet of Sarasota, FL, and Norman Polman and his wife Zelda of Bloomfield. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Marlene Polman. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Ilana Garber officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Avon. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her daughter, Ellen Margolis, 5 Chimney Hill Dr., Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hebrew Home & Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford 06117.
