Sylvia (Levine) Gordon

Sylvia Levine Gordon, age 92, of West Hartford, died Jan 16. Born in Hartford February 24, 1922, she graduated from Weaver High School and the Syracuse School of Nursing. She retired from St. Francis Hospital as Head Nurse, Nursery in 1985. She was an active member of Emmanuel Synagogue as well as various community, college and nursing organizations. She is survived by her sister, Sara Rosenthal, and her children Howard Gordon and Patricia Livingston; Robert and Rosemary Gordon; Jonathan and Marilyn Gordon and Susan R. Gordon. She also leaves seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jack Gordon, her husband of 69 years, died in 2012. Services will be held at 11 AM on Jan 19 at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foodshare, 450 Woodland Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002-1342.
