Sylvia "Sybie" (M.) Glassman

Sylvia M. ?Sybie? Glassman, of West Hartford, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. She was born in Hartford December 28, 1919, the daughter of the late Barney and Fanny Haverback Glassman. She was also predeceased by her brother, Louis H. Glassman. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Cissy Schaller Glassman; two nephews, Robert Glassman of Indianapolis, IN, and Alan Glassman of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH; and a niece, Deborah Glassman Kent of Windsor. She is also survived by four great-nephews and a great-niece. After graduating from Weaver High School, class of 1938, she worked many years for the former Sage Allen, later retiring from the Traveler?s Insurance Co. She was a long-standing member of the Hebrew Home Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Piaterer Verein Cemetery, Jordan Lane Ext., Wethersfield. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor?s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
