Sylvia (Piddy) Cordova

Sylvia (Piddy) Weiser Cordova, 91, of West Hartford died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on December 2, 2012. Born in Hartford she was the daughter of Louis and Rachel Weiser, she was a graduate of Weaver High School class of 1939. She was employed with the Hartford Board of Education and later with the Weaver High School library, until she retired. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Abraham (Remmie) Cordova, sisters Betty Weiser and Ida Smith, brothers Paul Weiser, and Irving Weiser. One of her passions was entertaining and cooking for her friends and family. Others included playing bridge and mahjongg. She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Cordova of West Hartford; and her granddaughters Jenna Meredith Olson and Lindsay Ann Olson, both of Reno, Nevada. She is also survived by her sisters in law Eleanor Cordova of West Hartford and Lillian Brownstein of Coconut Grove, FL, her husband Milton; and many nieces and nephews and long time friends. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday December 3, 2012 in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Road, East Granby. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Lung Association .
