Sydney (Glass) Berliner

Sydney (Glass) Berliner of Hanover Terrace, Hanover, NH, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the age of 98. She was a retired employee of National Biscuit Company where she worked for over 25 years in Hartford. Mrs. Berliner was a member of Princess Rebecca Assembly and served as the Grand Matron of the State of CT Grand Lodge. She was also Noble Grand of her local chapter of Rebeccas. She was a volunteer at Mt. Sinai Hospital where she earned her 25 year pin. She volunteered at the Jewish Federation and was honored for her achievements. She is survived by two sons: Leonard Berliner and his wife Rochelle of Quechee, VT, and Martin Berliner and his wife Randee of New London; eight grandchildren: Marc, Wendy, Elise, Scott, Eric, Maribeth, Jeffrey and Lori; and seven great grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be held TODAY, Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in the Jonathan Welfare Society Cemetery, Tower Ave., Hartford.
