Sidna (Cramer) Jaffe

In Loving Memory of Sidna Cramer Jaffe, June 30, 1930 through October 27, 2012. She is survived by her three sons, David, Adam and Seth, her grandchildren, Joshua and Benjamin and her brother, Lester Cramer. She also left many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, of whom she was very proud. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Irving. Above all else, she lived her life in dedication to those in society who were the less fortunate among us. A social worker by profession, her career spanned over fifty years before she retired in 2009 at the age of 77. For the past thirty plus years, Sidna, who graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1951, was a social worker for the Department of Developmental Services, providing support to group homes and severely mentally challenged clients. Her dedication and advocacy for her clients were legendary. On a more personal level, she loved politics and antiques and was extremely knowledgeable and conversant on these topics. Sidna touched the lives of everyone who knew her, especially her family members, who will always remember her compassion, loyalty, decency and selflessness. She relished the accomplishments of her sons and other family members and she reveled in their success and happiness. She will always be missed and forever remembered. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with interment following in the State of Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. A memorial period will be observed following the interment at the home of David and Jodie Jaffe, 6 Oak Ridge Lane, West Hartford until 4 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., PO Box 5022, Wallingford 06492, or to the American Cancer Society, I-91 Tech Center, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill 06067.
