Shirley (Rosenfield) Zinkerman

Shirley Betty Zinkerman (Rosenfield), 84, of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Howard Zinkerman died Monday, (March 26, 2007). Born November 27, 1922 in Hartford, daughter of the late Bessie and Joseph Rosenfield. She graduated Weaver High School, class of 1940. She has been a long time resident of West Hartford. Shirley was a long time member of the Agudas Achim Synagogue, and a lifetime member of the Sisterhood. Shirley is survived by her brother Albert Rosenfield of West Hartford. She is also survived by her sons, Raymond and his wife Shelley of Newington, William and his wife Linda of Newington, Arthur and his wife Kim of St Petersburg, Florida, and Robert of West Hartford. Beloved grandchildren David, Eric, Amanda, Sam, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ira, and a brother, Robert Rosenfield. She loved kids and spent many years babysitting for families in West Hartford. She was also an avid volunteer of many charities including the Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. She leaves many lifelong friends behind; Bunny, Susan, Harvey, and the Seneca Road gang. The family wishes to thank Dr. Joel Silver and Dr. Ron Szabo, as well as all the Doctor’s and staff at the ICU at St. Francis hospital for their excellent care. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford City Lodge Cemetery, Tower Ave., Hartford. Donations may be made to the Agudas Achim Synagogue.
