Sarah (Levy) Stein, 97, of Ardmore Road, West Hartford, widow of Irving Z. Stein, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, August 11, 2006. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Rose (Redak) Levy. She worked as a secretary for the Department of Labor, State of Connecticut before she retired. Mrs. Stein was a member of Beth David Synagogue of West Hartford. She leaves a son, Dr. Steven M. Stein of West Hartford, a daughter, Joyce Norman of Newton, MA, two beloved grandchildren, Shira Rachel and Caitlyn Michele Stein, and their mother, Maryellen Welch, all of Manchester, a sister, Adeline Gelb of Poughkeepsie, NY, a cousin Goldie Hershman of Newington, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Levy. Dr. Stein would like to express his sincerest appreciation to the staff at the West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center for their continual patience, concern and cooperation with the care of his mother. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. A graveside funeral service was held on Friday in the John Hay Memorial Park, Hartford.
