Sarah Bachner

Sarah Furman Bachner, 94, passed away Feb 6th with her beloved husband Leo by her side. Raised in Montreal, she moved to Hartford in 1952 to marry Leo Bachner. She worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses before settling into Leo’s store, Sam’s Army and Navy, while raising 3 kids. She loved playing Mah Jong, reading mysteries, and was involved with Hadassah. She is survived by Leo, her husband of 63 years, her children Steven Bachner, Wayne Bachner, and Robin Tobias, and six grandchildren. A funeral will be held on Feb. 8th at 1 PM at Weinstein Mortuary on Farmington Avenue. Donations made be made to the Hebrew Hospital and Health Care
