Sara Gitson, 82 years of age, of West Hartford, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude Gitson. Sara was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford and the Temple Sisterhood. She was also a life member of the Bess & Paul Siegel Hebrew Academy, a member of Jewish Childrens Home, Hadassah, and the Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home and Hospital. She was also a member of UOA Inc. She leaves her sister, Marion Eisenbaum of North Miami Beach, FL and Avon; nephews, Wayne Eisenbaum and Alan Eisenbaum, nieces, Marla Eisenbaum Helene and Donna Eisenbaum; four great-nephews and nieces, Ariel and Jason Eisenbaum, and Jared and Hayley Helene. She was predeceased by a sister, Berta Gitson. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff who cared for Sara at Brookdale Senior Living of West Hartford. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson Street Ext., Avon with Rabbi James Rosen officiating.
