Sam Goodman

Sam Goodman, age 101, of West Hartford passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday September 2. Sam attended New York University School of Engineering. He retired from the Chandler Evans Corporation at the age of 71 after a long career in aviation engineering. He was a lifelong member of the Emanuel Synagogue active in the Minyonaires, the Brotherhood and the Regents. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian in 2005 after 65 years of marriage and his son Andy. He is survived by son Jerry Goodman (Carolyn) of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, daughter Kay Kline (Robert) of Potomac, Maryland, and 4 grandsons Michael Kline (Harriet) and Kenneth Kline (Lauren) of Potomac, Maryland, Jason Goodman (Elana) of Parkland, Florida, Paul Goodman (Susan) of Western Springs, Illinois and 8 great grandchildren (Jordyn, Taylor, Jake, Justin, Ryan and Alex Kline, and Charlie and Sophie Goodman). The funeral will be Thursday September 4 at 11:00 am at the Emanuel Synagogue. Interment will follow at the Emanuel Cemetary, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Following interment the family will receive friends at his home 104 Mohawk drive. The family will also receive friends Friday and Saturday 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Donations in Sam’s memory may be made to the Emanuel Synagogue.
