Sally J. (Sarah) Wagner of Bloomfield, devoted wife of Judge Jerry Wagner for 62 years; daughter of the late Attorney Maxwell and Raye Hurvitz, died on February 26, 2013. Sally grew up in the West End of Boston, attended Girls High School and Massachusetts School of Art, and pursued a career as a commercial fashion illustrator in Washington D.C. and Hartford, creating advertising sketches for various department stores including Sage-Allen. She was a charter member of Beth Hillel Synagogue and was active in many organizations including the Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Auxiliary, Bloomfield Democratic Womens Club and Beth Hillel Sisterhood. She was a member of Hadassah, ORT, and the Leadership Council of Southern Poverty Law Center. She is survived by three devoted children, Jonathan Wagner of Brooklyn NY and his wife Lena and their son Arik, Paula Baram of Bloomfield and her husband State Representative and Attorney David Baram and their sons Daniel and Matthew, and Attorney Michael Wagner of West Springfield, MA, and his wife Laura and his daughters Rachel and Abigail and great grandchild Kali-Anna. She leaves also her brothers Joshua Hurvitz of Los Angeles, CA and Elliot Hurvitz of Abington, MA, and a sister Marilyn Gidez of Annandale, VA. Funeral services will take place at Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, CT on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at 1 p.m., followed by internment at Beth Hillel Cemetery in East Granby. Evening Shiva Minyan is at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Paula and David Baram in Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center or any of the organizations mentioned above.
