Ruth (Newman) Joseph

Ruth (Newman) Joseph, 82, of Henley Way, West Hartford died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center. She was the widow of Marvin Joseph. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jennie (Levin) Newman. She graduated from Weaver High School in 1944 and Bryant College in 1946. She was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford. She leaves a son, Seth L. Joseph of Simsbury; a daughter, Andrea S. Joseph of West Hartford; two sisters, Caroline Zaretsky of West Hartford, and Muriel Slotnick and her husband Dr. Herbert Slotnick of West Hartford; 9 nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 28 Henley Way, West Hartford, Wednesday following the funeral through Thursday 1-5:00 pm.
