Ruth (Stein) Gross,, 94, of West Hartford, formerly of New Britain, widow of Joseph Gross, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born May 6, 1911 to the late Sarah (Gimbel) and Bernard Stein, and lived almost her entire life in New Britain. She was married to Joseph Gross for almost 50 years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Janet Gross of West Hartford; her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Leonard Jacobs of Gaithersburg, MD; and four grandchildren: Matthew Gross and his fiancee Amy Mead, Sarah Gross, Blair Jacobs and her fiancé Mike Robinson, and Randi Jacobs. She was predeceased by her sister, Lillian Abedon. For the past six years she lived at Harborside Healthcare at the Reservoir in West Hartford. The family would like to thank the people at Harborside who were so kind to Ruth during her stay. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 12:00 Noon at the Beth Alom Cemetery, Allen St., New Britain with Rabbi Marshal Press officiating.
