Roslyn Z.P. Montlick, “Tibby”, 89, of Guilford passed away on Saturday, (August 18, 2012). Tibby was born in Hartford, daughter of the late George and Gussie Pessin. Tibby was a graduate of UCONN Law School in 1946. She started her private general practice in New Haven and retired in 1985 after 39 years. Tibby was one of the first female trial lawyers in Connecticut. Despite her many professional accomplishments, Tibby always said her proudest achievement was her family. After retirement she and her late husband Ben became snowbirds, dividing their time between Naples, FL and Connecticut. Tibby was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, sisters Annette Gold, Lindy Feinstein, and brothers Arnold Pessin and Harold Pessin. She is survived by daughters Linda Loen and her husband John of Guilford, and Susan Spector and her husband Robert of Tolland. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Sandy Daignault (Marc) of Madison, Alison Critton (Gabriel) of Tolland, Jason Michel of East Haven and Chelsea Peters (Matthew) of Portland, ME. Tibby also leaves six great grandchildren, Jacob and Cole Daignault, Myles,Teagan and Benjamin Critton and Lucas Peters. Tibby is survived by two sisters; Marcia Kagan and Sandra Gersten, both of West Hartford. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, and CT Hospice in Branford for the exceptional care Tibby received. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday August 21 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery in Wethersfield.
