Rose ((Sweedlow)) Solomon

Rose (Sweedlow ) Solomon passed away on February 15 at the age of 98. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Morris. She is survived by her daughters, Robin and her husband Moe of Manchester, and Bonnie and her husband, Gerry of Enfield. She also leaves her niece Felicia, and her husband Mark of West Hartford.

Rose retired from St Francis Hospital after more than thirty years as secretary to the director, Sister Judith. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer at St Francis until she was well into her eighties. A memorial brick, which is located at the main entrance to the hospital, was dedicated to her in honor of her years of volunteer work.

She spent the last 17 years at the McAuley in West Hartford, and volunteered at the McAuley’s gift shop and the White Elephant sales. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed tending her indoor plants.

Funeral service will be on Friday, February 17, at 1:30PM at Weinsteins Mortuary, at 640 Farmington Ave, in Hartford, followed by a cemetery service in Granby Ct.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Mclean Hospice Care in Simsbury, or the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford in West Hartford.
