Rose (Bellow Michaels) Schaffer

SCHAFFER, Rose (Bellow) Michaels Schaffer, 97, of West Hartford, formerly of Hartford and Rocky Hill, died Saturday, August 25, 2007. She was born October 15, 1909 in Hartford, daughter of the late William and Sonia (Petroshansky) Bellow. After graduating from Hartford High, Rose married Edward Michaels with whom she had two children, Ronald and Sandra. While raising her family, Rose worked as a sales clerk at Worth?s and G. Fox. She then went on to work for Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, now know as CIGNA, for over 20 years. Rose enjoyed poetry, dancing , and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra and her husband Gerald Cohn of Windsor Locks; daughter-in-law, Rose Michaels Revzon; her grandchildren, Arlyn and Marc Brierre, Marlene and Robert Mullins, Randi Cohn, Edward and Valerie Michaels, Rebecca and Glen Holley, and Sarah Michaels; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husbands, Edward Michaels and Henry Schaffer, her son Ronald Michaels and her three brothers, Arthur, Harry and Max. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the wonderful caring staff at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 26, 2007 with interment in Temple Beth Torah Memorial Park, Wethersfield.
