Rose (Rubin) Lott

Rose (Rubin) Lott, of West Hartford, CT passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010, at age 97. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Esther (Rubenstein) Rubin and the late Nathan Rubin. She was raised in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and spent her adult life in New Rochelle, NY before moving to West Hartford 16 years ago. A graduate of New York University, she was a social worker with the Westchester County, New York Department of Social Services for over 25 years. She was married to Sidney Lott who predeceased her in 1958. She was active in the Westchester County branch of the Workman’s Circle. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Julian Ferholt of Hamden, CT, and a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Martha Lott of Simsbury, CT. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren: Beth Ferholt, her partner Rachel Kahn and their son, Saul Ferholt-Kahn of Brooklyn, NY, Sarah Ferholt, her husband, Matthieu Wirz and their daughter, Raya Ferholt-Wirz also of Brooklyn, NY, Steven Lott, his wife, Laura Lott of Clifton, VA and Robert Lott of Washington, DC. A graveside service at the family plot in Greenwich, CT will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Shiva/visitation will be at her son Stuart’s home, 4 Pennington Drive, Simsbury, CT on Sunday 7:00-9:00 PM, Monday 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM and Tuesday 7:00-9:00 PM. Donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave. Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or at www.pancan.org .
