Roberta (Wallet) Plaut

Roberta “Robie” Plaut, 81, widow of Michael Plaut died Friday, (March 16) in Delray Beach, FL. Born in Hartford on December 18, 1930, daughter of the late Maurice and Annabelle (Horowitz) Wallet. Robie was a 1949 graduate of Weaver high school, and then lived in West Hartford for many years. A lifetime of summers were spent at Old Colony Beach. After retirement from Cigna, she and Mike divided their time between Old Lyme and Delray Beach. Mah Jong, tennis, travel, reading a great book, and walking were her passions. She is survived by her children, Abbe and Richard Cohen, step-children Laurie(Plaut) and Marshall Shakun, Harry and Deborah Plaut; grandchildren Shayna and Alexia Cohen, Lisa and Matt Shakun, Alex Plaut; her brother, Harvey Wallet and wife Sherry, sister-in-law Sally Wallet; nieces Shari and Danielle Most, Kayla and Diana Wallet, nephew Steven Wallet; special cousins Andrea and Siegfried deHaas and Allen and Florence Attas as well as MANY friends at Palm Green and Old Colony Beach. She was predeceased by an infant son Allen Cohen, and her aunt and uncle Myron and Marion Attas. There will be a graveside funeral on Tuesday, March 20 at the Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St., Avon, CT at 2 p.m. A memorial period will be at the home of Andrea and Siegfried deHaas , 35 West Ridge Drive, West Hartford immediately following the service, and Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. On Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m. there will be a memorial period observed at the home of Harvey and Sherry Wallet at Cascades,7109 Haviland Circle, Boynton Beach, FL.
