Robert (S.) Kirschbaum

Robert S. Kirschbaum, 97 years of age, of Granby, formerly of Chappaqua, NY, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015. He was the husband of the late Terry (Strukell) Kirschbaum. Robert, son of late Hyman and Lillian (Cohen) Kirschbaum grew up in Bronx, NY. Robert served for 4 years in the Air Force in World War II, based in India. Following the war he met his beloved wife Terry and began his 40 year career in advertising. As creative director and writer for Grey Advertising in New York, he received many awards for his radio, print and television advertisements. He and Terry eventually settled in Chappaqua, NY where they raised their two boys. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and vacationing in upstate New York. He leaves his two sons, Dr. Richard Kirschbaum and his wife Marie of Granby, Dr. Ronald Kirschbaum and his wife Eileen of Suffield and four grandchildren, Connor, Brendan, Caitlin and Cody. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Chabad of the Valley, 141 Hopmeadow St., Weatogue, CT 06089 with Rabbi Mendel Samuels officiating. Interment will follow in the Granby Cemetery, 260 North Granby Rd., Granby. A private period of mourning will be observed by the family following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chabad of the Valley, 141 Hopmeadow Street, Weatogue, CT 06089. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
