Richard R. Solomson

Richard R. Solomson, 84, a longtime resident of The Villages, FL and previously of West Hartford, CT passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan (Silverton) Solomson; their son: Marc G. Solomson of New Port Richey, FL; his brothers: Ronald Solomson and his wife Fern of Potomac, MD and Jeffrey Solomson and his wife Molly of Richmond, VA along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Richard was born in Hartford, CT the son of the late Nathan and Bessie (Rivkin) Solomson. He graduated Weaver High School before attending The University of Connecticut where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He worked for the State of CT as a social worker until his retirement in 1999.

He and Joan moved to Boynton Beach Florida in 1999 and then The Villages in 2013 where they were able to enjoy their retirement, friends and family.

His graveside service is Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 9am at Congregation Tik’voh Chadoshoh Cemetery, 10 Clubhouse Road, Windsor, CT 06095. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to: Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, 3200 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL, 33409.
