Richard Baron

Richard Baron, 62, of Rockville, passed away Tuesday (January 22, 2013) at Rockville General Hospital after a short illness. Richard is the son of Solomon Baron (deceased) and Hilda Rashall Baron. He is a graduate of Ellington High School and the University of Pittsburgh. A long-time employee at Scapa Manufacturing in Windsor, he was previously employed at the Central Connecticut Cooperative Farmers Association and had his own photography business. Richard was an avid nature lover and photographer, canoeing throughout New England and taking striking pictures of the world around him. He is survived by his mother, Hilda Baron of East Greenbush, NY (formerly of Ellington); his sister, Leanne Baron Friedlander and her husband, Charles, of Defreestville, NY; his brother, Michael Baron of Fort Myers, FL; and his niece, EmmaKate Baron Friedlander of Manhasset, NY. Richard was a loving son, brother and uncle, as well as a good friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service for close family and friends will be held on Friday, Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Knesseth Israel Synagogue Cemetery Section of Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington, with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiating.
