Rhoda Grodin Feinstein, died February 26, 2017, shortly before her 93rd birthday, in Mystic, Connecticut. Raised in New Haven by her parents, Dr. Herman and Dora Grodin, she lived her entire adult life in West Hartford, Connecticut. She was a registered nurse who worked at the Hebrew Home and Hospital in West Hartford, the Visiting Nurse Association and as the charge nurse for Obstetrics and Gynecology at the John Dempsey Hospital at the UCONN Health Center. She was active in volunteer organizations including the Hartford Jewish Federation and the Hebrew Home of Hartford. She gave flu shots for the Town of West Hartford into her 80’s. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Arthur W. Feinstein. Rhoda is survived by her daughter Dr. Carol Plotsky (Jonathan) of North Potomac, Maryland, her son Andrew Feinstein (Elizabeth Bochain) of Stonington, Connecticut, her daughter Nancy Feinstein of Stonington, Connecticut, her grandchildren Zoe and Katie Feinstein and Benjamin and Deborah Plotsky and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Savannah Feinstein.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on February 28, 2017 at the Beth El Cemetery in Avon, Connecticut. Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood, the Hebrew Home of Hartford, the UCONN School of Nursing or a charity of your choice.
