Regina (Jacobs) Lubka, of West Hartford, died Thursday, May 13, 2010. She was the widow of Samuel Lubka. Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Elimelach and Ruchel (Rosenshein) Jacobs. She was a Holocaust survivor. Regina and her late husband Sam owned the former Calfas Hatters, Asylum St., Hartford for 40 years, a Hartford institution, before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Hadassah and Congregation Agudas Achim in West Hartford. She leaves a daughter Cynthia Rabinowitz and her husband Allan of Old Bethpage, NY; cherished grandchildren: Adam and Emily Rabinowitz; and her two brothers, Moses Fred Jacobs and his wife Regina of West Hartford, and Julius Jacobs and his wife Roseann of Allentown, PA. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sarah Ruth Lubka. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Beth David Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed Friday following the interment through 5:00 PM, Saturday evening, and Sunday 1:00-5:00 PM at her home, 44 Portage Rd., West Hartford.
