Rayna (W.) Pickman

Rayna W. Pickman, 84 years of age, of Wethersfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was the widow of Marshall H. Pickman. Rayna was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Frank and Peggy (Lurie) Wenick. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother Stephen L. Wenick. She leaves her children Frank Pickman and his wife Leslie of Trumbull, Drew Pickman and his wife Cindy of Atlanta, GA, and Diane Hooker and her husband Philip of Farmington; and five grandchildren, Stephanie Pickman, Julia and Martin Hooker, and Lauren and Joshua Pickman. Rayna was retired from the State of Connecticut DAS, Department of Administrative Services. Previously she worked for the former VIP Manufacturing and StanChem as a bookkeeper. She was a founding member of Temple Sinai of Newington. She loved bird watching and enjoyed the view of the pond behind her house. Rayna liked her plants and sitting at the pool. She also was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary of Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Rd., Newington. Interment will follow in Temple Sinai Memorial Park, Newington. A memorial period will be observed Thursday following the interment at the home of her daughter, 65 Farmington Ridge Dr., Farmington. In lieu of flowers contributions in Rayna’s memory may be made to the Connecticut Audubon Society at www.ctaudubon.org. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
