Ralph Silverman

Ralph Silverman, 84, of West Hartford, died Sunday, July 23, 2006. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late William and Gussie (Sparks) Silverman. Ralph graduated from Rockville High School. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. A member of Jonathan Lodge No. 66 Independent Order of Oddfellows, he was installed as Noble Grand with Distinction. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, West Hartford. Ralph was employed at John Hancock Life Insurance Company and Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Ida Shapiro Silverman; two daughters: Deborah Charbonneau and her husband, Paul of Wrentham, MA, and Judith Restelli and her husband Thomas of West Hartford; three grandchildren: Brendan, Alison and Lindsey Restelli; a sister: Bette Glooskin of West Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be observed for relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 26th, at 2:00 PM in the Silberman Chapel of Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association Memorial and Honor Program, P. O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038.
