Phillip Shear

Phillip Shear, 87 years of age, of High Ridge Dr., Newington passed away on May 14, 2012 after a long illness. He was the son of the late Sol and Minnie (Oliner) Shear. Phillip was a veteran of WWII having served in Guam with the Army Air Corps. A graduate of Hartford Public High School and the University of Connecticut, he did graduate work at Central Connecticut State University. He retired from the Enfield school system in the late 80’s and had taught science at Kosciusko Jr. High and later Fermi High School. He leaves to mourn his wife, Anita (Arenstein) Shear, his beloved daughter, Susan Beauregard, her husband Mitch, and their three year old son Lannie who was the apple of his grampy’s eye. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Nathan and Manuel Shear. Funeral services will held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiating. Interment will follow in the Congregation B’nai Sholom Cemetery, Jordan Lane Extension, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed at the Shear home, 76 High Ridge Dr. Newington, Wednesday following the interment, and Thursday and Friday 11 am – 3 pm.
