Philip Edward Morin, 98, formerly of Worcester, MA, and mostly recently of West Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018. Born on January 6, 1920, he was the son of the late Morris and Lillian (Sinovitz) Morin. He was the husband of the late Rosabelle (Ranen) Morin with whom he shared his life for 59 years. Phil graduated from Clark University, with a Bachelor of Arts, in 1942. He bravely served our country, during World War II, as a Sergeant in the 106th Army Airway Communication System Squadron, and was honorably discharged upon completion of his service. Following the war, he went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Michigan in 1947. Using his education, strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial skills, he went on to become a successful coat manufacturer. One of his greatest pleasures was traveling around the world with his dear wife, Rosabelle.
He is survived by his three daughters: Leslie Singer and her husband, Alan, Janis Lane, and her partner, Mitch Goroff, and Linda Eady. He also leaves seven grandchildren: Rachel Niemiec, and her husband, Jeff, Daniel Singer, and his wife, Jackie, David Singer, Jeffrey Lane, and his wife, Teresa, Melissa Rutstein, and her husband, Matt, Allison and Jennifer Eady. Phil also leaves behind four great-grandchildren.
The graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at B’nai Brith Cemetery, St. John’s Rd., Worcester, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Shiva will be held at the home of Leslie and Alan Singer, on Thursday, 7-9 PM and Friday, 2-5 PM.
