Peter (S) Leibert

Peter S. Leibert, 64, of Newington formerly of West Hartford passed away on August 25, 2018. Born in Hartford, Ct. on April 19, 1954 to the late Manuel M. Leibert and Marjorie Leibert. Although Peter was born severely handicapped with severe mental retardation, epilepsy and cerebral palsy those disabilities did not define him. Peter enjoyed family, friends, laughing, singing and a party. Peter is survived by his brother Richard Leibert and his wife Joyce, nieces Debbi and AJ Kritzman, Cheryl and Nathan Mahoney, Sarah and Matt Williams and grand nieces, Sally, Sophie, Sadie, Kritzman, Harrison and Miriam Mahoney and Henry and George Williams. The family thanks the loving dedicated staff at the Hartford Regional Center who cared for Peter for almost 50 years and provided him a wonderful quality of life. Peter’s memory will be cherished by his family and all those who cared for him.

Following a private graveside service at 2:30 pm at Beth El Cemetery, Avon, on August 27, 2018 the family will be receiving at the home of Richard and Joyce Leibert 112 Balfour Drive, West Hartford, Ct. Funeral arrangements were provided by Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, Ct. Contributions in Peter’s memory may be made to the Hartford Regional Center, 71 Mountain Rd, Newington, Ct. 06111.
