Naomi (Pearson) Clare

Naomi (Pearson) Clare, 89, of Palm Beach, FL died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at JFK Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida of heart failure. Born in New Britain, she grew up New Haven and lived in West Hartford until moving to Florida. She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Sarah (Cantor) Pearson. Mrs. Clare was the widow of Harry E. Clare, the former owner of the Harmac Men’s Clothing Stores. She was involved in the business with her husband until their retirement in 1978. During World War II, Mrs. Clare served as Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Office of War Information in London, England and Paris, France. Prior to that she worked in the Office of Emergency Management In Washington, DC. She leaves her daughter Lynda Clare and son-in-law Stuart Vidockler of New York City and her son Michael of Honolulu. She also leaves her sister-in-law Esther Pearson of West Hartford as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held TODAY, December 30, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson Street Ext., Avon with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
