Muriel (Jainchill) Schaffman

Muriel Lillian (Jainchill) Schaffman, 88 years of age, of West Hartford, died Friday, May 31, 2013. She was the widow of Stuart L. Schaffman. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nettie (Bernstein) Schaffman. Muriel was a social worker for the State of Connecticut. She was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford. She leaves her son Mark Schaffman and his wife Nancy of Silver Spring, MD; her daughter Susan Wyler of Chapel Hill, NC; and her granddaughter Amy Natanya Schaffman. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 30 Barksdale Rd., West Hartford, Sunday following the interment through Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr., West Hartford. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
