Muriel 'Mutzi" L. ((Glazier)) Goldberg

Muriel “Mutzi” L (Glazier) Goldberg, 89, widow of Murray D Goldberg (2001), born in Hartford to the late Benjamin and Anna (Sherman) Glazier, died June 7, 2015 at the Hebrew Home & Hospital after nearly nine years as a resident. Muriel was a proud graduate of Weaver High School, worked for the IRS until her 1948 marriage to Murray when she moved to Springfield, MA where they raised their family, then moved to West Hartford. She enjoyed volunteering for many worthwhile organizations, was President of the Beth El Sisterhood in Springfield, a life member of Hadassah, Hebrew Home Auxiliary, JCL, JCSO, to name just a few. She worked at G Fox, then H&R Block as a tax preparer before retiring to Boca Raton, FL with Murray. She was President of the CT Club until returning to West Hartford to live near family. She is survived by three children, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and their families: Carol Goldberg Schectman of Hartford, her daughters, Beena M Schectman of West Hartford, Rachel L Shea, her husband Richard, and their daughter Kaela Eryn Shea of Windsor; Ronald L Goldberg, PhD, his wife Maria of Verona, NJ; Richard I Goldberg, his wife Judy of West Hartford, and their son Jarad D Goldberg of Bloomfield; plus brothers: Leonard Glazier, his wife Joan of West Hartford ; Philip D Glazier, his wife Ruth of The Villages, FL. The family appreciates the dedicated staff serving the Dementia Unit of the Hebrew Home & Hospital, and the Hebrew Health Hospice for their excellent loving, compassionate, kind, and comforting care of Muriel and her family, giving her a beautiful quality of life during a difficult disease. Thank you from our hearts. Rabbi Philip Lazowski will officiate at her funeral service on June 10, 2015 at 9:00 AM in Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with internment in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 15 Wolcott Rd, East Granby, followed by the Shiva Meal at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr, West Hartford with services at 7PM and 7AM.
