Morris Newman

Morris Newman, 80 years of age, of Thistle Pond Drive, Bloomfield, died Friday, November 12, 2010. Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Yehuda and Sara (Mossman) Najman. Mr. Newman, a Holocaust survivor, was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford. He leaves his wife, Alice (Grant) Newman, two sons: Jeffrey Newman of Edison, NJ, and David Newman, of England; a daughter: Sara Stein of Toronto, Canada; two stepsons: Zachary Marguardt of Toronto and Christopher Marguardt of Portland, OR; and stepdaughter Theresa Marguardt of Portsmouth, NH. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 8:00 AM in the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will take place in the Thornhill Section of the Pardes Chaim Cemetery, Vaughan, Ontario. Shiva will be observed at the home of his daughter Sara, 106 Fairholme Ave., M6B2W9, Toronto.
