Morris Bloom

May 26, 1928 — November 10, 2025

Morris “Mo” J. Bloom, 97, has passed away on Nov. 10, 2025. Born in West Hartford and grew up in Hartford CT. A graduate of Weaver High School, he excelled in Basketball and Track/Field. A Graduate of the Police Academy of NY. Mo was an Army veteran, serving with the 416 Military Police Unit during the Korean War.

Mo was a lifelong area business man. Owning and operating the LaSalle Lanes and the Mark Twain Lanes. Both Duck Pin Bowling Alleys. He ran numerous bowling leagues and tournaments, many of them for local charities. He was an antique store owner and a dealer at various flea markets in the Hartford area, specializing in Vinyl Records. In his retired years he drove a school bus in West Hartford, which he loved.

Mo was passionate about theology, politics, history, and sports, a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Mo was also an avid and expert gardener.

Morris was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Minnie Bloom. His siblings, Jack, Anne and Thelma Bloom. His beloved daughter Holly Rose Bloom. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Darlene. Sons Michael, Andrew (Linda), and Matthew. Grandchildren Ryan, Ava, and Jacob. Sister-in-law Sandy DeMarco and her partner Jim Nerz.

Mo, throughout his life had numerous well loved pets. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, on Monday, November 17,  at 12:00 PM, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford, CT.
