Minnie (Novack) Goldenberg

Minnie (Novack) Goldenberg, 94, of West Hartford, CT died peacefully Tuesday, March 8, four days before her 95th birthday. Born in Kiev, Ukraine she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Brucha (Becky) (Gershman) Novack. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 56 years, Benjamin L. Goldenberg. Minnie is survived by her 5 children who she believed were her greatest accomplishment; Ellen & Michael Suvalle of Framingham, MA, Samuel & Mary Kay Goldenberg of West Haven, CT, David & Elizabeth Leigh Goldenberg of West Hartford, CT, Marsha Komarow Arpin & Art Arpin of Rocky Hill, CT and Sherri & Fred Pliskin of West Hartford, CT. Minnie leaves 10 cherished grandchildren; Rick Suvalle (and Jennifer Baker), Marjorie (and Adam) Fischel, Carey Goldenberg (and Will Wagler), Thomas Goldenberg (and Jess Holzer), Ryan Goldenberg, Nate (and Maggie) Goldenberg, Andrew (and Jessica) Komarow, Jeff Komarow, Hannah Pliskin and Madeline Pliskin. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren; Arden, Alexandria, Aiden, Judah, Luna, Zachary and Arianna. In addition, Minnie leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her two loving sisters; Doris Hersh and Faye Katz predeceased her.

Minnie was a longtime member of Beth David Synagogue and Beth El Temple. She was involved in numerous activities including being president of the 55+ Club at the JCC. She worked at The Aetna for many years where she made lifelong friends.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 1:30pm in the Sanctuary of Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Following interment, a meal of consolation to commemorate Minnie’s wonderful life will be held at Beth El Temple. Shiva will be observed at the home of Sherri & Fred Pliskin, 161 West Ridge Drive, West Hartford, CT on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm with services at 7:30pm. The family will also receive friends and family Sunday, March 13 from 1pm to 4pm.
