Mildred (Rosenstein) Lewis, of West Hartford, CT, passed away on May 23, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Perry E. Lewis. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Cohen) Rosenstein. Milly attended Weaver High School and then Secretarial School, after which she worked for a Judge, and then B& L Lighting Company where she became Vice President. She is a Life Member of Hadassah, was an avid Bridge player, and loved to travel. After retiring she volunteered at the Hebrew Home, and even became their ‘go to’ person with the implementation of their first computer system. Mildred was the loving mother of Howard P. Lewis and his wife, Mimi, of Cherry Hill, NJ and Adrienne Lewis Charak and her husband, Ken, of Naples, FL; her four grandchildren, Rachel Carlson, wife of Elliot, Jessica Charak, Deana Kaplan, wife of Jeffrey, and Keven Lewis, husband of Candice and her three beloved great-grandchildren, Martin Charak Carlson, Ana Jane Carlson, Sylvie Kaplan, and Cecelia Lawrence her caretaker. In addition to her husband, Mildred was predeceased by her son Stephan Lewis, husband of Debra.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson St., Avon, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Family home, 6 Huron Drive, West Hartford, CT 06117.
