Maxine (Hollander) Weinstein

Maxine “Mickey” (Hollander) Weinstein, beloved wife of Michael P. Weinstein, of West Hartford passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Born in Norfolk,VA, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Jules Hollander.

Mickey attended the University of Georgia. She was the past president and chairman of the Board of the Mandell Jewish Community Center, a member of the Board and former chairman of the Women’s Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and was very active in several committees. She was also a Board Member of Tumble Brook Country Club and a member of Congregation Beth Israel, the Emanuel Synagogue and the Beth David Synagogue. She had been a co-owner of Hartford Distributors.

Besides her husband of 49 years, she leaves her son Seth Weinstein of Killingworth, her daughter Jaime Weinstein Dean and her husband, Mark Dean, of Wethersfield, and her four granddaughters, Florence, Jillian, Sarah and Reagan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 5, 2016 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon, CT. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, The Mandell Jewish Community Center, 333 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117 or to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, c/o Fund Development, Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour St., Hartford, CT 06102.
