Max (I.) Zetoff

Max I. Zetoff of West Hartford, beloved husband of 60 years to the late Irene (Dolgoruck) Zetoff, passed away at the age of 96, on Saturday, November 14, 2009, with his loving family by his side. Max was born in Brody, Poland, on November 5, 1913, son of the late Morris and Sarah (Balaban) Zetoff. He came to the United States in 1921, at the age of seven and he was a longtime resident of Hartford and West Hartford. Max was the proud owner of The Reliable Barrel Company for more than 50 years. Max is survived by his loving and devoted family; daughter, Renee Zetoff of West Hartford, sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Sue Zetoff of Bloomfield, MIchael and Beverly Zetoff of West Hartford; grandchildren, Keith, Sean, and Heather Zetoff of West Hartford, Jason and Janette Zetoff of Glastonbury, and Robyn and Derek Delaney of Farmington; and great-grandsons, Owen, Liam, and Keegan Delaney of Farmington; sister-in-law, Lucy Dolgoruck of Wethersfield; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Max was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Zetoff, and his sisters Ida Bernstein and Lillian Cohen. He was a longtime member of the Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 16, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small and Cantor Sanford Cohn officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. Shiva will be observed at his home Monday following the funeral through Sunday, November 22, 2009. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Max’s memory may be made to the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr., West Hartford 06117 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
