Max Lapin

LAPIN, Max Lapin, 71 years of age, of East Maxwell Dr., West Hartford died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Belarus, he was the son of the late Abraham and Sofia Lapin. Max was a civil engineer managing major construction projects for the Soviet Union. He emigrated with his family to the US in 1989 and became owner of Roberts Taxi in greater Hartford. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Ida (Reznick) Lapin; his children, Vitaly Lapin of Fort Lee, NJ, Daniel Lapin of Cromwell, and Regina Lapin of Boston, MA; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Gabrielle Lapin; and his sister, Sarra Lapin of West Hartford. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. A memorial period will be observed at his home, 28 East Maxwell Dr., West Hartford, Sunday following the interment through Tuesday evening.
