Maurine Gail (Skal) Arsenault,68,of Berlin died Sunday, July 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Maurine was born in Hartford on October 24, 1947 the daughter of Arthur and Erma G. (Brown) Skal. Maurine was employed by the State of Connecticut for many years before her retirement as Assistant Director Volunteer Services. After retiring she lovingly took care of her grandchildren, Jonathan and Sabrina who were the light of her life. Maurine leaves her loving children; Michele and her husband Jose Soler of Newington and Matthew and his wife Natalie of Newington; two grandchildren Jonathan and Sabrina Soler of Newington; her former husband Andrew Arsenault of North Port FL,her sister Deborah and her husband Alan Schnur of Clinton, brother David Skal and his wife Nancy of East Hartford and her sister Sharon Anderson of Coventry. She also leaves several nieces and newphews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Skal.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Lazowski officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford, CT. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at 38 Lantern Hill Road, Newington CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maurine’s name to the Hartford Hospital Transplant Center, Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour St, Hartford CT 06102 or online at giving.harthosp.org/donate.
