Maurice (L.) Sherry

MAURICE L. SHERRY, 82, of West Hartford, died Monday, February 6th, 2006. Born in West Hartford he was the son of the late Henry and Rebecca (Meridy) Sherry. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. His unit helped survivors after the liberation of the concentration camps in Germany. Mr. Sherry was a sheet metal worker before he retired. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 40; the Jewish War Veterans; and the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford. He leaves his wife Gloria (Seller) Sherry; his daughter Hope M. Tripp and her husband Stanley A. of West Hartford, and two grandsons: Jonathan and Benjamin Tripp. He was predeceased by his brother, Saul Sherry. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given by Jasmine Haynes and the other aides at the Hebrew Home & Hospital, West Hartford. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed at the home of his daughter, 23 Miamis Rd., West Hartford on Wednesday following the funeral through Thursday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hebrew Home & Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford 06117, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
