Martha (Frankfurther) Pollenz, 102, of Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford died Saturday (November 18, 2006). She was the widow of Max Pollenz. Born in Austria, she was the daughter of the late Jakob and Franciska (Bleier) Frankfurter. Martha had a strong spirit, was a wonderful baker of Viennese pastries and was a volunteer teacher in the New York City School System for over ten years. She leaves a daughter, Eva Greenwood of West Hartford; three grandchildren, Susan Greenwood and Arnie Lucinda Stewart of Jamaica Plain, MA, Jeffrey and Della Greenwood of Simsbury, and John and Karen Greenwood of Bellmore, NY; and five great grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Alyssa, and Michael Greenwood and Elijah Greenwood-Stewart. She was also survived by many beloved nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Fred H. Greenwood. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hebrew Home & Hospital for their loving and devoted care extended to Martha.
