Marna (Witkin) Kaye

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marna Witkin Kaye, 88 beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marna passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on August 10, 2024 after a short illness. Marna leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, Daniel Kaye. Her son Dov Kaye, daughters Robin Neron and Rebecca Falvey. She was predeceased by her son David S. Kaye. Marna was born on January 8, 1936 in New Britain, CT to Ida Witkin and former first selectman of New Britain Harry Witkin. She is predeceased by her siblings, Rita Bernstein, Joseph Witkin and Leona Sandler. She also leaves behind her adored 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Marna had a long career teaching early elementary school students in Hartford, CT. She loved teaching and even after retirement, Marna returned to the classroom to teach English as a second language. She loved painting, creating art, reading and going to Crescent Beach with her family. Marna Kaye will be remembered not only for her warmth and kindness but also for the lasting impact she made on those fortunate to know her.The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and nurses at Beechwood Nursing Home in New London, CT. Final arraignments will be held at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York on Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 1:00pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: the American Heart Association, P.O.
