Marla (Brod) Schwartz, 94 years of age, of West Hartford, formerly of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Justin Schwartz. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Rose (Fisher) Brod and was predeceased by her loving sister Lynn (Bevelyn Brod) Pearlman. She ran a catering business and was a department manager at the LaSalle Children Shop. She was very active throughout her life; she loved music, ballroom dancing, sang in the Synagogue choir and played multiple instruments her favorite the Mandolin which she played in a local big band. She loved sports, cooking, gardening, Mahjong and was an avid reader. She was an active member in her Synagogue and a past president of the Sisterhood. She had a strong sense of family and leaves her two daughters and sons-in-law, Nanine and Thomas Fago of Windsor and Shaw-Ann and Alexander Paone of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Darien his wife Heather, Randy and Evan, one great-grandchild Brent, and brother-in-law Marvin Pearlman his sons Ross, Barry, Mitchell and their families. She was a very kind person loved by all and will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff, nurses and aids at the Hebrew Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby.
