WARNER, Marion (Marianne Buchheim) 99, passed on February 15, 2026 in Farmington, CT. She was born on March 13, 1926 in Wohra, Germany – the daughter of Albert & Betti (Katten) Buchheim.
When Marion was 12 her mom passed away in early November 1938. Soon after, on Kristallnacht, she & her father hid from the Nazis in a cemetery. Days later they left for America. They settled in Hartford, CT. Some years later she met her future husband, Curt Warner, who was a boarder at her home. Their 68 year marriage started on April 20, 1947.
She is survived by her 2 children, Steven Warner & Beverly Ladue; 1 granddaughter, Arielle (Adam) Levine; & 2 great grandchildren, Hallie & Luke Levine. Marion is predeceased by her husband, Curt Warner & son-in-law, James Ladue.
Great cooking/baking along with a fabulous sense of fashion were her trademarks. Her number one passion was always her family – Marion was a wonderful & loving wife, mom, and grandmother.
The Funeral service will be Tuesday February 17, 2026, 1:00 PM at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT with Rabbi Small officiating. Burial will follow at the B’nai Tikvoh-Sholom cemetery at 10 Clubhouse Rd in Windsor, CT. Immediately following the burial there will be a meal of consolation at the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr, West Hartford, CT concluding with a shiva service at 5:15 PM. The mourners will also attend services February 18-20 at 5:15 PM, February 21-22 at 5:30 PM, & February 23 at 7:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made for Parkinson’s research via michaeljfox.org or to a charity of your choice.
