Marion (Shlien) Cohen Reisner

Marion (Shlien) Cohen Reisner, 89 years of age, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of West Hartford, CT, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Delray Beach, FL, surrounded by her loving family. Her first husband, Thomas Cohen of 31 years predeceased her. She had two children with Tom, Dr. Jeffrey Cohen of Norwalk, CT, and Peter Cohen and his wife Ellie of West Simsbury, CT. She also leaves three granddaughters, Amy, Sandy and Donna and Jonathan David; her great-grandson, Micah; her sister Irene Reisner of Westbrook, CT; as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States. Her second husband Samuel Reisner also predeceased her. His three daughters, Maxine Sisitsky, Harriet Kimball and Rene Hittner, their spouses and families all played an instrumental part in Marion’s long and full life. Marion worked side by side with Tom in developing and managing their store, the former Thomas Pharmacy in Hartford, CT. She was detail oriented and always did a fine job in thorough financial management of the store. She loved her family and always provided a remarkable dinner table with many special delicacies. Her friends know her to have been a cracker-jack bridge player, forging strong friendships through bridge right until the end. She was a member of ORT and had many social interests. Marion loved all of her family members, enjoyed their children and grandchildren and always provided a smile, a laugh and words of encouragement for each and every one of them. She also loved her friends and community at the Island View Beach, Westbrook, CT and her home in Boynton Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held on Friday , April 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT with Rabbi Yitzchok Adler officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth David Cemetery, Wethersfield, CT. A memorial period will follow at the home of Peter and Ellie Cohen.
