WINTHROP, Marilyn (Peck) Winthrop, 83 years of age, of Dedham, MA, formerly of West Hartford, died Friday, April 22, 2011. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Minnie (Rosenthal) Peck. Marilyn graduated from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. She was a music teacher before becoming a kindergarten teacher. She taught for over 35 years. She was a Life Bridge Master and an avid bridge player. Marilyn was involved in Congregation Beth Israel in West Hartford, CT. Her true love and passion was teaching and spending time with young children. She was the beloved wife of Justin I. Winthrop; loving mother of Earl B. Winthrop and his wife Maria of Avon, CT, Mark S. Winthrop and his wife Ellie of Hopkinton, MA, and Beth Ann Holzman and her husband James of Newton, MA; sister of Marvin Peck and his wife Lorainne of West Hartford; and cherished grandmother of Max, Lucas, Anna, Sean, Nicole, Sydney, Maya and Chase. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 12:30 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, Avon, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends following the interment at the home of her son, Earl B. Winthrop, 59 North Farms Rd., Avon, CT, Sunday following the interment.
